SITUATIONS WE COORDINATE
Staying at home, downsizing, relocation, family distribution and estate-related household work are situations—not packages. Your selected Pathway is shaped around the work in front of you.

FIVE CLEAR WAYS TO BEGIN

Each pathway uses the same five-step method and includes Family Portal access aligned with the service. Pathways Custom is reserved for larger estates, multiple homes, longer horizons, aging in place or work requiring an individually designed scope.

A FAMILY COMPANY · BUILT FOR FAMILIES
Lori Grinnell founded Long Pathways after recognizing a simple truth: families rarely struggle through a move, downsizing or household transition because they care too little. They struggle because a lifetime of belongings, memories, deadlines and responsibilities is too much to hold without a shared plan.
Long Pathways replaces scattered text messages, phone calls and kitchen-counter notes with accountable guidance and one organized record. Every meaningful possession receives a visible next step. Responsibilities stay clear. Authorized family members can follow the same information, even when they live far apart.
Lori’s mother, Patricia Schmida, advises Long Pathways as a board member and senior-citizen advocate. Her perspective helps keep dignity, independence, plain language and the older adult’s voice at the center of the company’s work.
Long Pathways is a transition-management company, not a clinical practice. We plan, document and coordinate the household transition while appropriately qualified professionals remain responsible for legal, medical, financial, appraisal and other regulated work.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Understand what Long Pathways coordinates, what remains in your control and what each service includes. You can begin with a complimentary meeting without knowing which Pathway you need.
You do not have to decide alone. Begin with a complimentary 60-minute meeting or the private assessment. The $495 plan provides clarity; Pathways Start addresses one priority; Guided Pathways supports family-led work; Pathways Complete provides comprehensive coordination; and Pathways Custom serves larger, longer or individually designed work.
Yes. The Transition Assessment & Pathway Plan is a complete standalone deliverable with a personalized 30-day action checklist, a 30/60/90-day roadmap, a plan presentation, a seven-day clarification period and six months of Portal access. If the same household later signs for Pathways Start, Guided Pathways, Pathways Complete or Pathways Custom, the full $495 planning payment is applied once against the Long Pathways service fee shown on that engagement's invoice.
Every Pathway includes Portal access aligned with the engagement, generally for at least six months. It keeps approved decisions, belongings, responsibilities, documents and next steps visible to the right people. There is currently no separate household Portal subscription fee or automatic future billing.
Long Pathways can gather suitable independent provider options and organize comparable information using the approved criteria. The client—or another properly authorized person—makes the final selection and ordinarily contracts with and pays the provider directly. Long Pathways receives no referral fee, commission or percentage of a sale.
The approved plan can be reviewed as circumstances change. Additional checkpoints, onsite sessions or coordination time are added only with your approval, and the written agreement identifies what is included before additional work begins.
YOUR NEXT STEP
